In-Home Care

In-home care refers to senior care options that bring healthcare professionals into the homes of older people who need some help. The benefit is that the seniors get to stay in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes, but receive the assistance and/or medical care they need from a dedicated team. In-home care comes in two categories: home healthcare and in-home care.

What is Home Health Care?

Home health care is actual medical care provided in the senior’s home. Registered nurses and other medical staff visit three times per week to provide advanced medical care, including different types of therapy, managing diet, and handling medical equipment of all types. It’s important to note that of all the types of in-home care, home health care is the only one covered under Medicare, and often in-home care is still necessary for a senior to be able to fully live at home.
